Uber Vehicle Onboarding Requirements

Information regarding the correct procedures and documentation to onboard your vehicle on Uber.

To onboard your vehicle on Uber, the following requirements must be met:

1. Operating Permit (Double Disc) and Roadworthy Certificate

You are required to obtain a valid Operating Permit (commonly referred to as a "double disc").

This requires a Roadworthy Test, which can be completed at an approved testing centre such as DEKRA.

The Operating Permit is issued by the Traffic Department and processed through the Post Office once approved.

2. DEKRA Inspection Report

A valid DEKRA inspection report is required. Please note that Uber does not accept general inspection reports it must specifically be an approved DEKRA e-hailing inspection.

3. Business/Commercial Insurance

The vehicle must have valid business insurance that covers e-hailing operations. Personal insurance policies are not sufficient. This requirement is critical for compliance and protection.

Please ensure all documentation is valid and up to date before submitting your vehicle for onboarding.
